Everything is looking great for our upcoming fishing derby. There is plenty of ice, most places are 17-18". Always remember, no ice is completely safe. With no snow cover, the ice is very slick. Cleats are recommended for saftey!

FISHING DERBY INFO

Come one, come all! Bring the family or a friend!

It's the Sleepy Eye Sportsmen's Club 43nd Annual Fishing Derby to be held Sunday, February 2nd from 12-3pm on Sleepy Eye lake. Get there early, registration begins at 9:30am. It's one of the largest contests in Southern Minnesota.

3 cash prizes will be awarded in 6 categories, Sunfish, Crappie, Perch, Bass, Walleye and Northern. Entry fee is $5.00 per person for the contest.

This year we will be raffling off an Ice Castle Fish House with the value of $22,000, ATV 4-wheeler valued at $7,700, 4-$500 cash prizes and 4-$250 cash prizes.

The Day's events also include a dollar raffle and a five dollar raffle and a ten dollar raffle.

The five dollar raffle which includes prizes such as, cash, gift certificates, 40 volt power auger and many more large prizes. Raffle Tickets are available before and during the contest. Winners need not be present to win.

The ten dollar raffle has 14 large prizes from $200 to $700

The general raffle takes place all afternoon during the contest. There are hundreds of prizes on it!

Just by registering to fish you will be entered to win Gift Certificates, Cash, Fish Locator and many more prizes.

Any Children who enter to fish in the Derby will be given a prize until they are gone. Also kids 15 years and under will have a chance to win a youth lifetime fishing license, one boy and one girl.

All types of fish houses will be allowed during the fishing derby.

Proceeds to to local parks and lake projects and other organizations for projects.
